How We Stand Apart
Our patients are so much more than sets of teeth and gums, but Your mouth has a lot to say about your health, and we listen.
At our practice, we believe in a holistic approach to healthcare, which is why we offer sleep and breathing-related services. These services address the root causes of various dental and overall health issues, significantly improving patient outcomes. By integrating treatments for conditions like sleep apnea, we enhance not only dental health but also overall quality of life.
Your mouth, medical and physical histories help us put together a puzzle of your wellbeing. With screening tools like the Watchpat One and the SleepImage ring, we are able to gauge your sleep health. Beyond that, we can look at the structural and functional aspects of your oral cavity and airway to see if there are ways to improve your breathing. We provide services such as:
Myofunctional therapy - this is physical therapy for the tongue and facial muscles. This can help kids and adults to overcome issues with swallowing, speech, breathing, muscle tone as well as asymmetry and neck tension.
Sleep appliances - in select cases, oral appliances can be uses as an alternative to CPAP machines. We custom fabricate these, titrate them and monitor your sleep to make sure the appliance serves your needs
Functional Frenuloplasty - we use a CO2 laser called the Light Scalpel to release the tight fascia under your tongue. When this is done in conjunction with myofunctional therapy, many benefits are seen depending on the age at which it is completed. The benefits for kids and adults are widely varied and different for every individual. Our assessment will help us determine if this would benefit you or your child.
